How to go to the Ocean
Good Morning: Oceans are here!
View the whole series now.
These paintings are reflections on three short trips we took to the coast this summer. I’m talking 30 minute max. I’ve written about how the short visits helped to reduce my panic attacks, but the other thing that made a difference was being able to go with Elsa. We just met her in July and she had lived a full dog life before finding her way to us. I often wonder what is new and what is familiar to her. I asked her if she’d been to the ocean before, and if so, what the salt air reminds her of. She didn’t say much.
She did, however, take in the moment (key: breathe in through your nose)
And shield her ears from the strongest wind, tucking into the body of someone who loves her (me)
And when she felt safe: run with all her might.
So, this series is dedicated to Elsa, who has made so much possible.
Here are a few more of the pieces from this year’s series:
And, just for fun, there are two little ornaments that will come on twine string!
You can see the rest of the series here.
Thanks so much for your encouragement as I continue to make this work. Your friendship, readership and patronage mean so much to me - thank you from the bottom of my heart.
