Learning the difference between love and not love has been a central task of my adult life. It’s been slow going. Even now, if I shook my history from my body and spread it out on a table it would take me ages to sort out what was care and what was abuse. Fear and grief make it confusing.
But this I know:
if it extinguishes us,
if it makes us disappear,
if by the end all that is left is the “love” and we ourselves are nowhere to be found,
it is not love.
I made this print for my March patrons to tell the story of “love” (ie, not love) that disappears us. If you’d like one, join us before the end of the month.
I also made a brand new sticker for the sticker tiers this month: What did it. It’s about contentedness, and the way that we can spend our whole lives trying something complicated to be happy and still be surprised each time it comes, sunsoaked and simple.
Happy spring friends,
Brit
Really appreciate these!
