Hello friends,
I planned to write to you today to tell you two things: I’ve just released 5 new prints and launched the Summer Sale this morning (that email is below).
But my focus has shifted with the heartbreaking fires in Hawaii.
I want to nurture responsiveness instead of shut-down when I witness terrible loss. It feels small, but now through Sunday we’re donating 25% of whatever we make in the shop to Maui Mutual Aid fund, a volunteer-led group that is meeting immediate needs of affected residents.
We are also donating 100% of August Substack membership funds, with thanks to all of you who support my art and writing this way.
I hate that devastating, avoidable things happen so often these days. It seems I will be learning how to live in this world for all of my life. An early lesson: we begin with promising that we won’t let each other go through these crises alone. Thanks for being the kind of community that has rebuilt my sense of trust in that.
