The new series is live in the shop now!
I took me the whole year to figure out this technique: hand cutting letters with tape and using them to mask out letters on raw canvas with high fluid paint. When I first had the idea to do this, I wondered why I hadn’t seen someone else do it before, and now I know! 😅 I have quite the stack of practice canvas fragments with seeping, leaking color and wonky letters. If you’d asked me about it in July, I would’ve confidently told you that it just wasn’t going to work. But I couldn’t shake the idea, and my desire kept growing to take these phrases that have become such important parts of my life and make them huge. So I kept trying and finally found a way that works.
I’ve been making small art and prints that combine text and abstract art for years, but this is the first time I have brought them together on this larger scale. These works feel both like a culmination and a beginning. I can’t wait to share them with you.
There are seven textual works from 26”x26” to 30”x40” along with three smaller 12”x16” paintings, each with a custom frame hand-crafted by Danielle.

I wrote more about this series here and here over the past few days in case you missed it.
Below are a few of my favorite detail shots. Hope they bring you a bit of happiness.
