Every time I post about queerness a bunch of people leave. They loved my art when they thought it was just about being human and now they are disappointed. Of course my art is about being human, insofar as I am included in what they have in mind when they think of human.
I’ve been taught a million different ways that I am not our culture's idea of essential, universal ‘humanity.’ A lot of us here aren’t. We are strangeness, an exception. Our lives are ‘issues’ that can be argued or set aside for the sake of ‘peace.’ And this put us in danger.
But listen: this week, I've felt how much power we have to look out for each other despite everything that is coming at us. Thank you so, so much to everyone who has left loving comments, likes and messages and supported the fundraiser this week. Your kindness and energy has not gone unnoticed.
We are donating 100% of the proceeds from the Select Your Gender prints this week to the Transgender Law Center. We've already raised over $1900 (!!!). This feels amazing, so let's keep going. Now through Sunday 3/12, we'll also donate 20% of the proceeds all other prints sales.
And in case I don't tell you often enough - I love you. Stay safe out there.

I hate the way society and individuals are treating you and so many others. I’m proud of you for standing up against it. I know that must be hard. You are essential humanity.
From one queer to another - thanks for being here and for standing up for yourself and our community. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️💖💕✨
