Algorithm-Free Art
Here’s the latest! Thanks for connecting with me outside of social media algorithms. Feel free to forward this to anyone else who’d appreciate it.
SURVIVAL MODE - August Patreon Print
This is on my favorite diagrams, ever. Here’s what I wrote about it on Insta:
The easy day. Having everything I need. Able to enjoy enjoy the things I love. Feeling safe and soft and interested in something. Toe dipped in possibilities. Breath coming, slow and steady.
The fighting for the life,
and the life we fight forIt’s only available the August patrons. Join us before the month ends if you’d like one. Each month the patreon print comes with a piece of writing - usually a letter, sometimes a poem. This month, it’s this:
Thanks to all my patrons whose support has given me the space for some play and lots more art. I love you!
There’s a check-in up for 9 more hours
“Not a Girl”, oil on canvas panel, 2021
This piece is called “Not a Girl.” We finally watched The Good Place and I love hearing Janet say, immediately and every time, “not a girl.”
I shared the process of painting this piece in oils and shared some stories about not correcting people when they use the wrong gender language for me, or when they mispronounce a name. The whole thing will be archived on Patreon later today if you’d like to see.
I am working on series of larger abstracts and enjoying myself completely! I made a pretty soothing video of the process for this one, which you can see here.
These pieces will release to the mailing list before everyone else, later this fall! Thanks for being here!
The check-in was really fun--thank you for that! And your art is always spot on--such a great mix of abstract expressionism and the Venn diagram! :)
