Studio Sale Originals + Sliding Scale = ✨✨

we're trying something new! and I'm very excited about it.

On Thursday we’re having our first Studio Sale in ages (with a sliding scale so everyone can access 🫶🏼 detail below).

I am always making these paintings that don’t fit into a series, so then they don’t end up in the shop. I am working a series of new large paintings now that I’m so excited about, but first, I wanted to pop this collection of small works up in the shop ahead of the holidays and their flurry.

Danielle also gathered up her not-quite-perfect handmade frames and fitted them to a handful of pieces. Since framing is such a labor of love, we don’t get to include them with art very often. This feels special.

I even found this Pride flag which Danielle mounted with hanging hardware for us!

There are quite a few small paper pieces as well, like this landscape that gives me a sense of calm whenever I see it.

There are tiny paintings too, like this 3”x3” oil on panel of tall grass from Miko’s point of view.

All in all, I think there will about 75 pieces up total, of which about 7 will be framed — we’re still finalizing it all and picking out our favorites to share. We’re planning to list them at very friends-and-family prices.

I’ve actually been strongly and lovingly advised to never sell anything original at these kinds of rates, for you know, all the professional reasons, but making art accessible to people at all income levels has been a fundamental part of my creative endeavor all along. I spent most of my life unable to afford art and I want to make art for people like me. Art brings so much vibrancy and meaning to our spaces. And connection too.

SO - we’re doing this as a sliding scale (up to 15%-45%) for Patreon and Substack members, as a celebration of our community and the joy of small art.

All of the art will go live in the Member Shop this Thursday, Oct 24 at 8AM Pacific time. To access it, you will need the member shop passcode, which is available to all Patreon and Substack members.

You’ll have 3 Sliding Scale codes which are only good on Studio Sale items. They will give you 15%, 30%, and 45% off. Use whatever codes feel right - no questions asked.

That’s it! Join us on Patreon (starts at $3) and/or Substack (starts at $6) to access the member shop, and you’ll get the access and sliding scale codes on Thursday morning.

I hope this makes it possible for anyone who feels connected to my work to collect an original piece for yourself or as gifts for people you love.

A new print!

This piece is called Opposite of Shame: Curiosity.

The limited run of hand-embellished ones sold out yesterday to members, but the standard prints are available as an open run for everyone now. They come in two sizes: 12”x20” and 18”x30”.
